Dr. Kent Jackson, DVM, MPVM
Veterinarian, Medical Director

Dr. Kent Jackson was born in Carbondale, Illinois, and raised in northern California. He attended veterinary school at UC Davis and graduated in 1983. He worked for 2 years in Riverside, CA, and has been with AMC ever since. He became a vet because he genuinely enjoys helping animals and people and enjoys the challenge of veterinary medicine and surgery. His special interests include companion animals, internal medicine and surgery, avian and exotics, and endoscopy. Dr. Jackson loves that animals trust us to care for them and to do the right thing for them.  He has been married to his wife, Darlene, since 1979, and they have 2 kids (Kelsey and Daniel) and 3 grandchildren so far! In his spare time, Dr. Jackson enjoys hiking, cycling, kayaking, SUP, swimming, gardening, traveling, and baseball. Over the years Dr. Jackson has volunteered with Little League, Boy Scouts, and Salvation Army, as a mentor for high school students, church, and GCWR. He also assisted with local high school scholarships. His professional associations include AVMA, CVMA, and AAV

Dr. Adriana Moreno, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Adriana Moreno was born in Santa Rosa and was raised mostly in Northern California and the Midwest. She has lived in 9 different states! Dr. Moreno grew up on an Arabian breeding horse farm and knew she would be a vet from a very young age. She earned her B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in microbiology at Oklahoma State University in 2009 and graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State in 2013. Dr. Moreno has worked in mixed animal practice and companion animal practice since graduating. Her special interests include internal medicine, preventive medicine, and ultrasound. Dr. Moreno values the bond we all share with our beloved pets and that is why she is a veterinarian. Her favorite things about animals are their unique personalities and resiliency. Dr. Moreno has 3 cats currently: Yuki, Weebo, and Patches. She also has 2 horses named Monster and Iskra. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, running, listening to audiobooks, or watching her favorite TV shows.

Dr. Kelsey Thomas, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Kelsey Thomas is a California native from the Central Valley town of Visalia. Her interest in veterinary medicine originated from her devotion to her childhood pets and her curiosity about science and the natural world. She graduated with a BS in Zoology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2018. Before attending veterinary school, she worked as a veterinary assistant at a mixed large animal practice in her hometown. She graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis in 2023. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, radiology, and pediatrics. Dr. Thomas lives with her 3 pets: Annie the tabby cat, Ellie the Golden Retriever, and Cleo the mutt. In her free time she enjoys camping, paddle boarding, reading, watching tv shows and movies, and playing board games. She is thrilled to begin her veterinary career serving the pets and people of the Auburn area.

Dr. Jamie Posthumus , BVMS, MRCVS
Veterinarian

Dr. Jamie Posthumus was born and raised in Santa Clarita, CA, and currently lives in Auburn, CA with her daughter Charlie and their pup Boldric. She graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and then moved up to Auburn in 2012. She decided to become a veterinarian because she loved medicine and science combined with the joy of being around animals.  Her special interests include imaging and the privilege of watching animals grow through all life stages. She also loves seeing all of the cute quirks each pet has. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, exploring the area with her family, and visiting with friends. Her professional associations include AVMA, CVMA, MRCVS, and Christian Veterinary Missions.

Dr. Bonnie Coyne, DVM
Veterinarian, Board Certified Small Animal Surgeon

Dr. Bonnie Coyne was born and raised in Sedalia, Colorado and attended veterinary school at Colorado State University. She previously worked at Kansas State University and UC Davis as a Veterinary Surgical Instructor and was also a staff surgeon at Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic.  As a board-certified small animal surgeon, Dr. Coyne travels to Animal Medical Center to perform orthopedic and specialized surgeries for our patients. Dr. Coyne’s goal is to improve the quality of life for dogs and cats through quality surgical services. Her professional associations include AVMA and ACVC. Dr. Coyne’s special interests include soft tissue and reconstructive surgery.

Jamie Nolen
Practice Manager

Jamie Nolen was born and raised in Auburn CA. She has been a dedicated employee of Animal Medical Center since 2008. She lives locally with her husband Kris and their 2 sons Kaleb and Kolt. They also have a dog named Brewski, a cat named Dutch, and many different types of freshwater fish. Her favorite part about working at Animal Medical Center is the strong sense of community from their clients and the devotion everyone working here has to the overall health and wellbeing of our patients.

Mallory Anacker
Lead Registered Veterinary Technician

Mallory has worked in the veterinary field since 2003. She graduated from the Foothill College Veterinary Technology Program in 2007 and received her RVT license in 2008. She moved from the Bay Area with her family in 2018 and joined the Animal Medical Center team at that time. She currently lives in Newcastle with her husband and two children. Mallory works closely with the doctors and staff to ensure that our patients are provided with the best care possible. Her favorite part of working in this field is that there is always something new to learn and every day is different!

Jessica Gifford
Front Office Lead

Jessica Gifford is a dedicated professional with a deep passion for animals and their wellbeing. She has been an employee at Animal Medical Center since 2021. Jessica quickly found herself at home here and is currently enrolled with Penn Foster to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Her favorite aspect of her current role is being able to support our veterinarians to help provide our patients with the best care possible.  Outside of her career she finds joy in spending time with her husband Todd and their 3 children Hailey, Katelyn and Cody. Their family also includes 3 dogs (Bella, Gunner & Chance) and 2 cats (Sally & Oliver).
